Our flowers are made of natural materials (silk, silk velvet, cotton or crepe paper). The base material is stiffened with gelatin, glue, or gum arabic and then heated and molded with hot tools. All flowers are finished with a felt and velvet backing and center. Centers are usually made of new old-stock crystals or stamens. Some flowers and headbands have additional embellishment - vintage Swarovski crystals, feathers, vintage trims.
Every camellias and curls flower is hand made by founder, Mélissa Peng using vintage tools or molds in our studio in Round Rock, Texas. Creating a single bloom can take between 20 mins – 2 hours, depending on the complexity of the flower. For more on the process see the question above.
The only exception is our True Vintage Collection - these flowers are new old-stock vintage pieces that went through a similar process long ago.

Flower Care:
1. DO NOT WET YOUR FLOWER. It has been shaped using heat and it will lose all shape once wet.
2. WAIT until your hair is dry to place your flower in your hair. You can place it in while your hair is moist but over time the moisture will cause your flower to soften and become more shabby chic.
3. Keep your flower in a safe place (its box is usually a good spot) free from other heavy objects that could otherwise smash your flower.
4. The flowers are made of natural fibers and materials, so do keep moth deterrent around especially if you have purchased anything with feathers. We use cloves and a natural herb blend in the studio.
Yes! Any flower you see on the website can be made in brooch form and some include a Pin +Alligator Clip backing. If you are looking for a brooch email Mélissa using the contact form.

We have cotton flowers and can use gum arabic instead of gelatin when stiffening all our flowers upon request.
Velvet flowers do not use any gelatin, however they do contain silk.
Yes Yes Yes! We use super strong backings to ensure our product holds up in Kinky, Curly, and Thick natural hair. That's actually why the brand started! Check out the Meet Mélissa section to learn more!
Yes! These clips are heavy duty and will cling to the shortest and thinest of hair. We also can make any bloom into a crown to accommodate those with super short or no hair. That being said some styles are more forgiving than others. Feel free to reach out at any time for help during your selection process!
Yes - however it is by request only! Hair flowers and all accessories are potential choking hazards for small children. I do not recommend leaving children with ANY hair accessory unsupervised and ask that parents commit to that prior to purchasing.

Custom order timing varies depending on the project scope and timing of your request but we do our best to meet your requested date. The general range is 2 days to 2 months. Most custom orders take approximately 2 weeks.
Custom orders start at 75 dollars. The average custom order is approximately $150 (three to four flower crown).
As our items are each unique & handmade we are unable to offer a full refund on any unwanted products.
However if for some reason you are unhappy with your purchase you may return it for 50% of the total price.
If an item is delivered damaged, please contact us within 3 days of receipt and we'll be happy to issue a replacement/repair/store credit.
Return Process Details:
✧Customer must request return via contact form within 7 days of receipt of product
✧Product must be returned within 14 days of receipt in it's original state
✧Buyer is responsible for return shipping cost for refunds, replacements, and repairs
✧Camellias and Curls accessories should be kept dry! Please do not swim, bathe, or wet products. Returns will not be accepted due to water damage.
✧Refunds/replacements for damaged items (reported after 3 days of receipt) will be made on a case by case basis.

Undelivered Orders:
In the rare event that your package is not delivered & it has been more than 3 weeks for US or more than 8 weeks for international orders, the package will be considered "lost" and a refund will be issued.

Please note: due to the process we use to make our flowers only 100% silk, cotton, linen or silk velvet can be used. Blends will burn during the tooling process.
